What do we bring?

A camera, pen and water.

What do we wear?

Wear something that is comfortable for exercising in – it is recommended to wear closed in exercise shoes and comfortable clothes. Much of the time is spent outdoors so it is also recommended to wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Having a team colour or outfit is optional and is certainly recommended!

Can children participate?

Yes. However, there must be at least one participant aged 16 years or over per team.

How fit do participants have to be?

It is recommended that participants be capable of walking for 2 hours continuously. Participants can walk or run the course at their own pace. How many obstacles completed will be dependent on the team. Rest breaks can be had at any time. We have had people of all ages and fitness levels enjoy the events.  It takes more than just physical fitness to get a good score. It requires planning, problem solving and more so it isn’t always the fittest team that wins!

Can I choose the start and finish locations?

For a private event, yes you can. You can choose a CBD or South Bank location convenient to you. If you are entering a team into a pre-existing event, the start and finish locations are pre-determined but are in easy-to-access inner-city locations.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The weather is always a risk for outdoor events. Generally in the case of rain we still hold the event.

We routinely do a weather check in the lead up to the event and if the forecast is unfavourable (cyclones/thunder storms) we will consult and decide to either go ahead in “standby mode” or postpone to an alternative date without penalty.

How do you ensure the group is safe?

We ask teams to complete the race at a pace that is comfortable for them.
Before heading off, our staff will provide their phone numbers to a representative from each team.
We conduct a race briefing prior to the event. All participants are encouraged to abide by local traffic rules.
